Anna
Hello! I am a qualified teacher currently working in the city of Bath. I have twelve years of experience working and volunteering in schools and have been teaching full time for six years. I founded TLT in 2020, after adapting to online learning during the pandemic and recognising the difference one to one support can make. I specialise in providing a homeschool education for children with SEND, particularly children who have ADHD, dyslexia and Autism as well as those suffering with PTSD and trauma.
I have a strong knowledge of the curriculum and the ability to adapt lessons to all types of learners and abilities for a personal learning experience. By actively identifying gaps in a student’s knowledge, through positive and engaging assessment methods, I can utilise resources to create the most productive learning environment possible, easily accessed from the safety of pupil’s homes.
I am very committed and care wholeheartedly about the support and education each one of our pupils receives in order for them to reach their full potential and to build their confidence inside and outside the classroom. I am a strong believer that providing individuals with the right opportunities can make a world of difference. This makes me all the more determined to be a dependable and consistent teacher and founder that can help students to thrive in the education system and fall back in love with learning.

I am a highly experienced English A Level and GCSE teacher, tutor and examiner. My approach is very kind, thoughtful and patient. I believe one-to-one learning is a fantastic way for a student to see quick results, and I regularly see improved confidence levels after only a few lessons with me. Another benefit is, of course, that all lessons can be tailored specifically to each student’s need, and I pride myself on my ability to react and adapt quickly. I am very passionate about my subject and I am always excited to share this with my students.
The most exciting part about studying English is the analysis of texts, and I enjoy discussions with my students to help them to solidify their own opinions and ideas. A large part of succeeding in English is having a point of view and being able to convey it clearly and confidently. This comes with practice, and is something that forms a large part of my teaching, as well as understanding how to structure a successful exam answer.
My Qualifications and Experience:
For over six years, I worked as a secondary school English teacher and Second in Department, teaching English Literature and Language GCSE and A Level, and shaping the curriculum to suit the needs of all students.
Every year I work as an English Literature examiner for GCSE and, therefore, understand what an examiner looks for in an answer. For this reason my students achieve or exceed their target grades each year.
In 2022, I received a Master's Degree in English Literature and I have since worked full-time as an online tutor. I have a lot of experience teaching various exam boards, including: AQA, OCR, Edexcel (IGCSE as well as GCSE), WJEC, Cambridge.
